Staff were very friendly and welcoming and service was fast also. I had a great mixed platter starter, very nice!! For my main I went for the conventional but yummy chicken tikka, it was a little mild for me but very tasty. I had the the sticky toffee ice cream cake for dessert, no wonder its got an award!! really nice. So a big thank you to the staff at the bistro it was a lovely meal and what a brilliant bonus I could bring my own wine!! Great!! But I have been here a few times before. The food is really good, and the value for money is fantastic, especially due to the fact that you can bring your own beer/wine. The service is a bit slow, but it doesn't matter if you're there for a leisurely dinner. It is simply decorated. All parties thoroughly enjoyed the food- I had the starter platter for one (great idea on their parts!) the fish for main which was lovely (particulalry with a side of raita- which they didn't even charge me for) and a Bailey's cheesecake for dessert which wasn't exactly authentic or home-made but given how tasty the starter and main were and as we had a four course meal for less than €20 with a BYOB option... we did well! With our Menupages deal we both ordered the mixed starter with a giant tandoori prawn, tasty chicken and a potato cake - all excellent. My husband had Lamb Malai which is a favourite and he thought it was wonderful, I had the Fish curry and it was really good with firm pieces of fish and an excelelnt sauce. With Garlic coriander naan and our own favourite vino it went down a treat. The mango kulfi was out but the pistachio one was excellent as was the Brown chocolate dessert. When your eating here you feel like its your grannies kitchen but somehow it works it has the cosy homely feeling to it with amazing food and atmosphere. The staff are so kind and friendly and I feel like I know them at this stage especially the girl with the red hair (don't know her name) she takes pride in her job and you can really tell she loves working there she always remembers us and makes an effort to make us feel welcome. You can bring your own wine just pop into the off licence next door and you have a great choice of all wines. Its a really relaxing place to go for food their menu has a great choice of authentic Indian food that will just melt in your mouth. I had the chicken balti and my husband had the chicken madras which wasnt on the menu but they made it anyway for him which i thought was very good service. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere is like sitting in the comfort of your sitting room, staff were very pleasant especially the dublin girl and i would definately go back - every night if i could. The only thing i would suggest is lowering their prices or doing set menu's and i reckon the crowds would flood in cos to me its the nicest Inidan in dublin. Great value!) Overall, couldnt fault a thing! It was quite busy for 7.30pm on a Tuesday evening, but the service was still excellent, in particular one Irish girl. I tried the lamb, and my mother had chicken, and we both finished everything, despite large portions. We also had dessert, which is a different menu than online. But can't complain, it was lovely!! As we had the menupages voucher, we only had to pay for drinks. But Bistro Spice allow you to bring your own wine/beer AND don't charge corkage! What great value.
